Being a security guard is not all easy. There rules and regulations you must follow if you want to keep the job even after completing security guard training. Misdemeanors will not be used to disqualify you right away since that depends on what kind of misconduct did you do and if the state allows you however, if you have a criminal background on your record, this may be grounds in which you can be disqualified for the job. Use of prohibited drugs while on duty as well as a history of drug abuse is an automatic disqualification. Taking of alcohol while on duty, involving in illegal activities and other related acts can also be grounds for disqualification.

Now maybe you are wondering if you can transfer your security guard license from state to state? The answer would be a yes and a no. There are states that allow you to have your license be transferred. Remember that every state has different laws on this and it will depend on the type of security guard you are. For example, let’s say you worked as a patrolling guard in your state. The requirement you will have for this position will be different if you are to transfer from one state. This means that if you move, you will have to do the security guards training once more.
